Videos in galleries
Add MP4 and MOV videos to a gallery next to your photos, choose a poster, and see how clients watch and download them.
You can deliver videos in the same gallery as your photos. Clients watch them right in the gallery.
Add a video
- Open the gallery and go to the Photos tab.
- Drop MP4 or MOV files into the upload box, on their own or mixed with photos. iPhone videos (HEVC) are fine.
Each video can be up to 30GB. Large files upload in parts. If the connection drops or the page closes, choose the same file again in the same browser within a day, and the upload carries on where it stopped.
Location data is removed before the video is stored.
Getting it ready
After the upload, the video is being prepared for streaming. This usually takes a few minutes. Click Check now on the Photos & videos tab to see if it's ready. Once it is, press ▶ Cover on the video's tile in the grid to choose what clients see before it plays: drag along the video or tap a frame, or upload an image. Your client only sees the video once it's ready.
If a video can't be prepared, the Photos tab says so. Delete it and upload it again, or export it as MP4 (H.264) first.
The poster
Flashslash picks a poster frame for each video. To change it, open Poster for and the file name on the Photos tab, then either:
- Type the time of a frame in seconds and click Use this frame, or
- Click Upload an image.
A video can also be the gallery's cover. It plays muted on a loop over its poster.
What clients see
- Video tiles show a play mark and the video's length.
- Clients open a video to watch it in the photo view, streamed at up to 1080p.
- Proofing galleries, and galleries locked until the balance is paid, don't play videos until they're unlocked.
Gallery insights show Videos played.
Downloads
Videos follow the gallery's download rules and download PIN. Clients can download:
- The original file. On Studio and Pro, that's the full file, 4K and up included. On Starter and during the free trial, clients get it at 1080p.
- A 1080p MP4.
Videos aren't included in Download all zips.
Video hours
Each plan includes hours of video: 2 on Starter and during the free trial, 6 on Studio and 15 on Pro. Video hours count the length of the videos you keep, including any in the trash. Videos also count toward your storage. See Storage, video hours and fair use.
