Storage, video hours and fair use

Storage is the space your gallery files take up: photos, RAW files and videos. Video hours are the total length of the videos you keep in your galleries. Each plan includes both.

How much you have

• Starter: 200GB and 2 hours of video
• Studio: 1TB and 6 hours of video
• Pro: unlimited storage under fair use, and 15 hours of video
• Free trial: 20GB and 2 hours of video
• Beta: 50GB, unless your code came with a different amount

Go to Plan & billing to see how much you're using. The Storage card shows used and total space with a bar, and the top of the page shows the percentage.

Fair use on Pro

Pro storage is unlimited under fair use, which means about 3TB. If you go past that, we get in touch with you to agree what suits you, such as archiving older galleries. Nothing is blocked. RAW files can take up to 1TB in total on Pro. See RAW files.

What counts

• Photos, RAW files and videos count by the size of the files you upload. The smaller copies Flashslash makes don't count.
• Video hours count the length of the videos you keep.
• Items in the trash still count toward your storage, and videos toward your video hours, until they're deleted for good. See The trash.

Notices as it fills

You're never charged for extra storage, and nothing is deleted automatically. Instead:

• At 50%, you see a note in the app, once. It suggests setting galleries to expire (Galleries > Gallery defaults, Expires after) or downloading and deleting galleries you no longer share.
• At 80% and again at 95%, you get a note in the app and an email.
• When it's full, uploads stop until there's room. Everything already uploaded stays, and clients can still view and download their galleries.

Getting more room

Flashslash doesn't sell storage packs or other add-ons. To get more room:

1. Go to Plan & billing and scroll to Switch plan.
2. Pick the bigger plan and confirm.

You can also make room by emptying items from the trash with Delete now, or by downloading and deleting galleries you no longer share.

Storage packs you already have

If you bought storage packs before, they still count toward your storage until you remove them. Plan & billing lists them under the Storage card, each with Remove one.
