Rebuild photo copies
Remake a gallery's web, high-res and phone copies from your originals, so downloads carry the date, camera and copyright.
Flashslash makes smaller copies of every photo you upload (see Upload photos to a gallery). Copies made now keep the date taken, the camera details and your copyright, so downloads land on the right day in your client's Photos app. Copies made before that change don't have those details.
Rebuild copies remakes a gallery's copies from your originals.
How to rebuild
- Open the gallery and go to the Settings tab.
- Find Rebuild photo copies.
- Click Rebuild copies.
It runs in the background, so you can leave the page. The card shows how far it's got ("Working on it: 120 of 480 so far"); refresh to see progress. When it's done, the card says when it was last rebuilt, and how many photos couldn't be rebuilt, if any.
A big gallery may take more than one run. If the card says to press Continue, click it and it carries on where it stopped.
What changes
- The web, high-res and phone copies are made again. The location is never included.
- Your originals stay exactly as they are.
- Hearts, stars, notes, picks, scenes and the cover stay as they are.
- Rebuilding doesn't use more storage. Copies don't count toward it.
