Adjust a booking's price
Change what a session costs, for a discount, an extra, or after a refund.
You can change a booking's total at any time before it's cancelled or expired.
Change it
- Open the booking.
- In the Money card, click Change the price.
- Type the New total. Zero is allowed.
- Click Save price.
You'll see "Price updated. Any open payment link for the old amount was closed." Nothing is emailed to the client.
What happens
- The total changes, and the balance is worked out again from what's been paid.
- The change shows in the booking's Activity, like "Price changed from $800 to $700".
- Any open Stripe payment link for the old balance is closed. Make a new one if you need it (see Send a balance payment link or reminder).
- If the booking has a gallery locked until paid and nothing is owed anymore, it unlocks.
Only owners and admins can change prices.
After a refund
A refund lowers what's been paid, which raises the balance. If you refunded because you're charging less, do both:
- Refund the difference first, from the payment in the Money card.
- Then lower the price here, so the balance stays right.
For example: a $1,000 session is paid in full. You refund $100. Paid is now $900, so the balance shows $100. Lower the price to $900 and the balance is back to zero. See Refunds.
Discount codes vs. adjusting
Discount codes are for clients to use when they book. To give one client a discount after they've booked, change the price instead. To offer one client a lower price before they book, send them a proposal with their own price (see Proposals).
