Sell photo downloads
Let clients and their guests buy the whole gallery or single photos, paid through your Stripe account.
Any gallery can sell its photos as digital downloads. Buyers pay by card through your own Stripe account, so you need Stripe connected (see Connect Stripe).
Set prices
- Open the gallery's Settings tab.
- Under Selling photos, type a price in Sell the whole gallery (optional), Sell single photos (optional), or both. Prices run from $1 to $10,000.
- Set What clients can download to No downloads (view only) or Web size only, so there's something to buy.
- Click Save settings.
If downloads are still on for every size, a warning says clients can already download the photos free.
What buyers see
A Buy button appears at the top of the gallery. Buyers type their email (for the receipt and download link), then choose:
- All N photos, at your whole-gallery price.
- The N you loved, at your single-photo price times the number they loved. It's never more than the whole gallery costs.
- Buy this photo, when they open a single photo (if you sell single photos).
They pay on Stripe's checkout page and come straight back to the gallery. Bought photos download in every size (and originals if you allow them), even on a view-only or proofing gallery, and without the download PIN. They also get an email with a link to download on another device.
After a sale
- You get a "Downloads sold" notification in the bell.
- The gallery's People tab lists Downloads sold: the buyer, what they bought, the amount and when.
- If you refund a purchase in full, that buyer's download access ends.
