Help center / Payments & money
When will I get paid?
Your first Stripe payout takes 7 to 14 days. After that, money reaches your bank on a regular schedule.
Card payments go into your own Stripe account, and Stripe pays them out to your bank.
Your first payout
Stripe holds every new account's first payout for 7 to 14 days after the first payment. It's a standard safety check for new accounts, and Stripe doesn't skip it for anyone. It's usually 7 days; some kinds of business wait up to 14.
The money is safe in your Stripe account during the wait, and your clients' payments, bookings and receipts all work as normal.
After that
Payouts arrive on a regular schedule, usually two business days after each payment. You can see and change the schedule in your Stripe dashboard.
If payouts are paused
Stripe pauses payouts until it has everything it needs, often:
- a photo of your ID
- your address or date of birth
- your Social Security or tax ID number
- the bank account for payouts
Payments > Online payments in Flashslash tells you when payouts are paused and what Stripe is asking for, with a button that takes you straight to it. Stripe also emails you. If your payout date keeps moving, Stripe is almost always waiting on something: check for a banner in your Stripe dashboard.
Good to know
- Don't change bank accounts during the first hold. Changes to your payout bank or schedule only take effect after the hold ends.
- A long gap between payments (for example over the winter) can make Stripe check your details again before the next payout.
- Stripe's processing fees come out of each payment before it's paid out. Flashslash takes no fee. See Connect Stripe to take payments.
