The website popup
Invite visitors to leave their name and email so you can send them newsletters.
The popup invites website visitors to leave their name and email. It's the easiest way to build a list for your newsletters.
Turn it on
- Open Website > Edit website, then Site > Website popup.
- Tick Show the popup on my website.
- Choose When it appears: After a few seconds (set the number in Seconds to wait, from 3 to 120), Halfway down the page or When they're about to leave.
- Write a Headline, the Text and the Button words. Tell people what they get, like first dibs on mini sessions.
- Click Publish at the top to put it live.
What happens when someone signs up
- They get an email asking them to confirm. Nothing is saved until they click the link and press Confirm, so bots and mistyped addresses never join your list.
- Once they confirm, they're added to Clients with the tag website-popup, or the tag is added if they're already a client.
- You get a notification in the bell, like "Anna joined from your website".
- They count as signed up for your emails, so they're in the Everyone who signed up for your emails audience when you send a newsletter.
How often visitors see it
Each visitor sees it once. Closing it or signing up means it won't show again on that device. The popup doesn't show while you preview a draft design.
A sign-up block on a page
Prefer a quiet sign-up to a popup? In the website builder, click + Add a section and choose Email sign-up. It shows a heading, a line, one email field and a button, and answers right there when someone signs up. Under Layout, pick the list: Mini session list or Updates, each with a color band or plain. You can reword the heading, the line and the button; the small line about what they're signing up for stays as it is, so it's always honest.
- Sign-ups work the same as the popup: they confirm by email first, then join Clients with the tag mini-session-list or website-signup, and count as signed up for your emails.
- You can send people on the Mini session list one email about each live mini, with its open times and a link to book. Nothing goes out on its own: you send it from Packages > Mini sessions. See Run mini sessions.
